Troyer Foods announces expanded partnership with Progressive Group Alliance and Pocahontas Brand
02/05/08 -- We write this after many months of deliberation and due diligence. We have attended shows, visited offices and hosted staff from FAB, Golbon, Progressive Group Alliance and UniPro. We have told many in the industry that we couldn't make a "bad" decision because we have discovered that all of the buying/sales marketing groups have very "good" people - including their staff, suppliers and distributor members. However, to maximize our growth in the foodservice arena, we do want to partner with one group throughout our company.
After our thorough evaluation, we have made the decision to expand our partnership with Progressive Group Alliance (ProGroup) and the Pocahontas label. This group brings great expertise and depth in staff from their DDM (the staff person working directly in the field with us) Troy Weeks through their procurement, marketing, IT, quality assurance, event planning, and training staff and programs.
We are very excited about this partnership and look forward to growing our foodservice sales through this partnership. We believe this is the best choice for many reasons, i.e. the large number of existing customers who are familiar with the Pocahontas label, the long history this label has in the foodservice industry and the familiarity with many potential customers. This label (along with the other shared labels of ProGroup) has great breadth and will allow us to "brand" ourselves and truly be a "broadline foodservice distributor". I can assure you that they are as excited as we are about growing into the future together.
We will be conducting "kick off" meetings to further acquaint both our sales and purchasing staff with Progressive Group Alliance and the many opportunities this partnership brings to our table. We will also provide materials to share with customers. We are anxious to get everyone "up to speed" before our food show and welcome conversations with our vendor community as well. We are excited about our opportunities for our customers and vendors as we partner with other distributors to maximize our opportunities for mutual success!

Troyer's Announces Acquisition of Salem Food Service
06/22/07 -- Salem and Goshen, IN: Two years ago Troyer Foods, Inc., headquartered in Goshen, IN acquired Sure Fine Foods in Evansville, IN and last year grew their presence in southern Indiana with the addition of many of Cadick Foods' customers and staff. Last month Troyer Foods, Inc. (with $160 million in sales) completed the acquisition of Beasley Food Service, in Bloomington, IN. This past week, Troyer Foods has signed a preliminary purchase agreement with Jerry McClellan, President of Frozen Food Service dba Salem Food Service in Salem, IN.
Salem Food Service is a broad line food service distributor. On Saturday evening, June 2, 2007 the warehouse suffered a severe fire due to a lightning strike and incurred significant damage to their building and inventory. After evaluation of the damage and much hard work at discerning the best long term opportunity to continue a tradition of outstanding customer service and quality products - and the least short term interruption to customers, the decision was made to join the team of Troyer Foods, Inc., headquartered in Goshen, IN.
Deliveries continued to customers thanks to the outstanding teamwork of both the Salem and Troyer associates. Troyer's acquisition of Salem Food Service, especially at this time will assure customers of even better opportunities for service, quality products and an even expanded network of product lines and support staff.
Jerry McClellan joins the Troyer team, as does Jim Clark, Sales Director and the current sales and transportation staff. We are confident that this will be mutually beneficial to our customers, our community and our trusted employees.
Together, we offer a winning team moving forward to be the premier food service and retail provider for Indiana and the surrounding states. We look forward to our continued growth together with our valued customers, vendors and communities.

Troyer's Wins Distributor of the Year!
2006 Ernest J. Voigt, Distributor of the Year, October 14th, 2006
11/15/06 -- Troyer Foods, Inc. has been named the Food Distributor of the Year by the Golbon Buying Group. Troyer's has made a major impact on Golbon since it joined the program in the year 2000. This year alone Troyer's has experienced an 87.1% increase in sales with Golbon. Troyer's supports 97 Golbon approved suppliers, and purchases from 16 of the 17 product categories. Troyer's also supports many Golbon programs including Protein Advantage, Logistics, Red Label Potatoes, IPAP, and Golbon Business Enhancements just to name a few.
How did Troyer's qualify for this prestigious award? Simple, we met virtually all criteria set forth by Golbon that allows a distributor to be named Distributor of the Year. Troyer Foods is well known for its timely deliveries, as well as working closely with customers and vendors in creating a successful environment which allows everyone to enjoy the benefits of a friendly company providing quality services. Of course, this isn't the first time Troyer's has received an award based on the qualities and attributes demonstrated, once again, this year.
